Andrew was called to the English Bar at the age of 22 before subsequently qualifying as an English Solicitor and a Guernsey Advocate. He is an experienced corporate lawyer with significant expertise in the structuring, establishment and operation of offshore investment vehicles including companies, trusts, foundations and limited partnerships. He has a detailed knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks underpinning the operation and management of such structures and has acted as a director of numerous regulated and unregulated companies, including funds, family office structures and private trust companies.
Between 2014 and 2024, Andrew was an executive director and shareholder of Trust Corporation International, widely recognised as one of the Channel Islands’ leading fiduciary and family office service providers. Towards the end of that period, Andrew and his colleagues led the negotiation and sale of that business to Ocorian, a global provider of trust and fund administration services.
Prior to joining Trust Corporation, Andrew was a partner of Mourant Ozannes, one of the world’s largest offshore law firms, where he spent nearly a decade specialising in mergers and acquisitions, investment funds and financial services regulation. Before that, he practiced with the London offices of international law firms, Andersen Legal and Hogan Lovells. During that period, he was seconded to Lehman Brothers as a trading floor lawyer.
In 2023, Andrew was recognised by Chambers and Partners as one of nine leading individuals in the Guernsey fiduciary sector. Whilst in private practice, Andrew was identified as a leading lawyer by the International Financial Law Review and as a recognised individual by Chambers and Partners. He has featured in a range of other industry directories including The Legal 500, PLC Which Lawyer and Chambers UK. His work has been published in various journals including Butterworth’s Offshore Legal Service and The International Journal of Business and Finance.
Andrew is a Barrister of the Inner Temple and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Guernsey Bar (all non-practising). He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Exeter and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills.
Andrew now holds a number of non-executive directorships and acts as a senior consultant to family offices and regulated businesses in Guernsey’s financial services community.
